The blogs were a mixed success. We are now looking at having the teachers create web pages at weebly.com. It’s easy to navigate and create a nice looking web page here. Uploading clip art and pictures are a bit more tricky, but not too bad! I made a pretend classroom webpage here if you would like to check it out:

This year I would like to offer another way for staff to communicate with their students and families. In the next week or so, anyone interested in linking to the school website with their own staff blog will be invited to a session that will get you started. Look for the link above that says “start your blog here” if you are interested in finding out a little bit more!

Well, the first week of school has finished cooler than it started. Media classes will now focus on the school district’s Acceptable Use Policy or AUP (responsible use of technology and Internet safety). Students and teachers are also checking out some of the new books we have in the media center which is always a good thing!

Welcome back to the media center! It’s been a busy summer for me and Mrs. Lindemer. Our big project this summer was weeding books and making sure the start to a new school year is as smooth as it can be. I am looking forward to this school year, and hope to share good books, technology and research skills with the students and staff at our school. Let’s go!
